Game Caviar – Website

Dates: April-June 2024 | Role: UX/Product Designer | Site: gamecaviar.com

ABOUT GAME CAVIAR

Game Caviar is the world's largest xDev marketspace where proven game developers and service providers connect, collaborate and deliver the world's best games.

Goal

The goal was to redesign and build Game Caviar’s landing page to elevate its web presence, modernize the brand with a slightly brighter aesthetic, and clearly convey product values to both customers and partners.

Process

Erin-Marie took initial ideas for the site and made them come to life on-screen. She edited the content, revised the layout, created aligned digital assets and built out four pages of the site:

  1. Home

  2. Consulting

  3. Advisors

  4. Feed (blog)

She took the initial wireframe of the site and edited it in Figma. She designed the remaining pages in Framer, with collaboration from the team.

Challenges

Erin-Marie reviewed various options for building the website. As she came on board, she was invited into a Squarespace site where she quickly learned she wouldn’t be able to create the intended design, given it’s limitations. She compared various web content management systems and chose Framer because it is a design-centered platform, with control and flexibility in design options. It is also a company recently funded (Series C 2023) with a commitment to releasing new features.

Framer presented a few challenges such as needing an additional breakpoint to house the slideshow. In total, there were five breakpoints created.

Other challenges were in creating digital assets that conveyed the product in a friendly way with a brighter yet not distinct brand. The CEO and Erin collaborated on assets together and were pleased with the result.

Results & Outcome

The new website achieved it’s desired outcome, to host a more modern design with values portrayed to customers and partners. The site was used to promote Game Caviar. Since May 2024, Game Caviar has seen an increase in sign-ups, partnerships including the MGIS Conference, and have been invited to discuss partnerships with prominent game developers.
